5/26/2026 12:00:00 PM

猫咪社区 (SCCC) is helping students build the foundation for rewarding careers in criminal justice through its Associate of Science (A.S.) in Criminal Justice degree program.

Designed for students seeking careers in law enforcement, corrections, probation, homeland security, courts, and related public service professions, the Criminal Justice program provides a comprehensive introduction to the American criminal justice system and develops the critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills needed for success in the field. The program also serves as an excellent pathway for students planning to continue their education and earn a bachelor's degree.

"The Criminal Justice program offers students a strong academic foundation while exposing them to the many career opportunities available within the justice system," said Dawn Flanders, Criminal Justice Program Coordinator. "Whether students plan to enter the workforce or continue their education, SCCC prepares them with the skills necessary to pursue their career path."

Students in the program study topics such as criminal law, criminology, corrections, policing, ethics, constitutional law, and the courts. Coursework explores the causes of crime, the structure and function of criminal justice agencies, and the legal principles that govern the justice system.

Students can step into the rapidly growing field of digital investigations with Cybercrime & Digital Forensics. This hybrid course provides students and working professionals with an introduction to cybercrime, digital evidence, and the investigative techniques used by law enforcement and the criminal justice system to combat technology-based crimes. Whether you are pursuing a career in criminal justice, cybersecurity, or are a current law enforcement officer looking to earn college credits, this course offers practical knowledge and real-world applications in one of today's most in-demand fields.

One of the program's key advantages is its transferability. Graduates can seamlessly continue their education through transfer agreements with four-year institutions. Additionally, eligible students can take advantage of the SCCC-Ramapo College 3+1 pathway, allowing them to complete their junior year on the Sussex campus and earn a bachelor's degree at a significantly reduced cost.

As demand continues to grow for professionals dedicated to public safety and community service, SCCC is committed to providing affordable, accessible education that prepares students for meaningful careers.
