猫咪社区鈥檚 Public Safety Training Academy (PSTA) recently marked its annual Graduation Ceremony before a packed audience of over 300 guests, celebrating 92 graduates from its Firefighter, Rescue Task Force, and Fire Officer Development programs. These graduates are poised to play a vital role in supporting volunteer fire companies throughout Sussex County.
The ceremony, hosted by PSTA Director John Dixon as Master of Ceremonies, included fellow firefighters, family members, and friends, all gathered to recognize this important achievement.
The Franklin Fire Department proudly served as the Honor Guard, while the Bergen County Firefighters鈥 Pipe and Drums provided live music for the event. Adding a meaningful moment to the ceremony, SCCC student Danielle DeBattista performed the National Anthem.
Featured speakers included SCCC President Dr. Cory Homer, who offered welcoming remarks, and retired Deputy Chief Warren Whitley, who delivered an inspiring keynote address.
Reflecting on the event, Dr. Homer shared, 鈥淭his program is the result of the incredible dedication of our graduates, their families, friends, and instructors, all of whom have given their time and energy to make this program possible. It embodies the true spirit of volunteerism and service. Volunteer firefighting is one of the last great examples of genuine volunteerism in our country, demanding extraordinary skill, courage, and a readiness to face serious risk.鈥
He expressed his gratitude to John Dixon for his impactful leadership at the Public Safety Training Academy, acknowledging the example he sets through his guidance and instruction.
