SCCC is excited to announce the upcoming art exhibit, Enchanted, featuring inspiring works by Sherry Fitzgerald, Melissa Gillem, and Barbara Hart. The art showing will run through February 24th.

Enchanted showcases a variety of mediums, including watercolor and alcohol ink paintings, fairy houses, hair creatures (needle felting), and photography reflecting the unique perspectives of Sherry Fitzgerald, Melissa Gillem, and Barbara Hart.

Sherry Fitzgerald is a faculty member at SCCC where she serves as Chair of the Humanities Department, Professor of Visual Arts, and enjoys spending time with colleagues, students, and leading seniors in a variety of workshops. She enjoys working with many different mediums of art, with an interest in exploring fantasy and abstraction.

Melissa Gillem is a self-taught watercolor artist living in the tranquil countryside of Northern New Jersey.  She is inspired by the fields and forests around her, the starry skies, and the recurring gift of sunrises and sunsets, which are reflected in her art.

Barbara Hart is a fiber artist enjoying many years of creating quilts and sewn pieces, but in recent years she has explored working with alpaca, llama, and sheep fibers, creating miniature dry fiber sculptures, also known as needle felting. Barbara has created many figures for holiday and fantasy themes.

The SCCC Gallery is open Monday-Thursday from 10am to 7pm and Friday from 10 am to 3 pm. For more information about the gallery, visit our website at sussex.edu.
