This course provides law enforcement officers with comprehensive training in Close Quarters Battle (CQB) operations, preparing them to work effectively in confined and complex environments. The curriculum emphasizes tactical movement, room entry techniques, threat identification, team coordination, and rapid decision-making during high-risk events. Officers will develop the skills necessary to operate safely and decisively during encounters such as active threat incidents, warrant services, and hostage or barricade situations.
Training begins with a review of core CQB principles, maximizing officer safety, minimizing exposure, and understanding how the environment and structure influence tactical choices. Officers will work in small teams as they learn coordinated movement, communication protocols, and systematic room-clearing procedures. Instruction highlights the use of cover, angles, and deliberate versus dynamic entry methods.
Participants will engage in a variety of training formats, including classroom instruction, structured walk-throughs, and practical drills. The course culminates with scenario-based exercises using force-on-force or live-fire simulations, allowing officers to apply learned skills under realistic stress. Additional components may include breaching techniques, the deployment of less-lethal tools, post-assault procedures, and casualty evacuation considerations.
Sample Training Objectives:
This course builds the tactical, cognitive, and communication skills officers need to safely and effectively operate in high-risk confined-space environments.

This course provides law enforcement officers with a comprehensive understanding of use-of-force principles, legal standards, and practical application in the field. The training is designed to reinforce decision-making, accountability, and professionalism while ensuring officers can safely and effectively respond to a wide range of encounters.
Participants will review federal and state legal requirements, departmental policies, and nationally recognized best practices governing force. The course emphasizes the importance of de-escalation, proportionality, and objectively reasonable responses. Instruction covers the full force continuum鈥攆rom verbal communication and control tactics to intermediate tools and, when necessary, deadly force.
Through classroom instruction, case studies, and guided discussion, officers will analyze real-world incidents to better understand threat assessment, articulation, and post-incident responsibilities. Practical exercises and scenario-based drills allow participants to apply concepts in realistic, stress-induced environments, enhancing their ability to make sound, defensible decisions under pressure.
Training Topics Include:
This course equips officers with the knowledge, judgment, and skills necessary to apply force in a manner that is lawful, ethical, defensible, and aligned with modern policing standards.
Active Shooter Incident Management (ASIM) Basic is a four-hour introductory course demonstrating the ASIM Checklist integrated response process to law enforcement, fire, and EMS responders. Instructors introduce key concepts of integration and engage responders in hands-on functional exercise scenarios, enabling response practice while improving comprehension and retention.
The ASIM model focuses on a three-level priority system to address stopping the active threat, facilitating a quick rescue of the injured, and enabling clearing for additional threats.
