Current Student Registration

Register early for the next semester - this will allow you to get the classes necessary to complete your degree and secure a great schedule. 

New Steps for Self-Registering on the Student Portal

If you have not yet set up your new Outlook Email / Portal account and are a current student, please review these instructions to get started. 

If you have not previously attended classes, view our instructions.

Step 1:

Upon logging in, you will see an additional tab appear next to 鈥溍ㄟ渖缜 that is labeled 鈥淪tudent鈥. Click on the tab

Step 2:

On the left-hand side, you will see a 鈥淩egistration鈥 tab, under the 鈥淪tudent Registration鈥 section, you can pick from available terms. If a term is not yet open for registration, you can view the schedules for each course, but you won鈥檛 be able to register until registration opens.

Note: Once registration opens, instead of seeing the 鈥淧lan鈥 button, you will see a 鈥淩egister鈥 button instead.

Step 3:

If you have a hold on your account:

You may have a hold placed on your account, preventing you from registering. In that case, you will see a red 鈥淗olds鈥 button in the Student Registration section. Clicking on the 鈥淗olds鈥 button will show you details about the hold.

Most times, you will just need to speak with an advisor about your major and required courses in order to complete your degree. 

Upon speaking with an advisor, they can either clear the hold so you can register for classes yourself, or they can register for you. 

If you have no holds on your account:

You can click on the 鈥淩egister鈥 button to bring up this page

You can search for the courses you would like to register for by pressing 鈥淐ourse Search鈥. 

This will let you look up courses by Course Code, Course Title, Instructor, Department, Location, and Meeting Type (i.e. virtual, hybrid, in person)

Step 4:

To add the course, press the blue Plus button and it will add it to your schedule.

You may receive a warning when registering for classes that says, 鈥淧ossible financial aid issue.鈥

This warning will pop up if you are not declared in a major or if you are registering for a course that is not part of your major requirements.
 

Please note 鈥 we are still actively transitioning to our new system so our degree audits are not completely ready.  This may cause this error to show up when registering.  If you know the class is part of your degree requirements you do not have to worry about this message.  If you are unsure, you can always contact your advisor or the Registrar鈥檚 Office.
 

To complete your registration for the class, just click on Override.

If you add an online course, it will appear on top of the schedule calendar.

You can continue to add the rest of the courses you would like to take to your schedule.

Step 5:

When you are done, press the green 鈥淩egistration Checkout鈥 button right below 鈥淐alendar Key鈥

Step 6:

Check the boxes for the courses you would like to register for and click the green 鈥淩egister鈥 button.

You will have successfully registered for courses.

Step 7:

Afterwards, if you would like to view your schedule, go back to the main 鈥淪tudent鈥 page on Portal.

Under 鈥淩egistration,鈥 find the 鈥淪tudent Registration: Add/Drop Courses鈥 section.

Click 鈥淢y Schedule鈥 - From there, you can view your schedule!

FAQ for Grade and Course Information

How can I view my grades for courses taken at SCCC?

  1. Log into your my.Sussex portal.
  2. Select the 鈥淪tudent鈥 tab located in the top left corner.
  3. On the left menu select Registration - Course - Degree Information.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of this page to the My Unofficial Transcript
  5. Click View Unofficial Transcript to view your grades.

How can I view my Degree Audit for SCCC?

  1. Follow steps 1-3 above
  2. Scroll down to the section called Course Needs
  3. Click Degree Audit to open and view.

How can I order an official transcript from SCCC?

  1. Log into your my.Sussex portal.
  2. Under the Home or Student tab, on the left menu under Quick Links
  3. Select Transcripts.
  4. Click the green Order Transcripts button to open the National Student Clearinghouse website and follow the steps to order an official transcript.

 

Plan Ahead

  1. Review your Program Course Sequencing for your major. You can find the Information in the current College Catalog under your degree.
    • Use the Degree Audit feature on the  under Course Needs to see what classes to take.
  2. View Courses on the  portal and prepare a schedule.
    • For questions, reach out to your advisor to review your academic goals before registering and throughout the year. Advisor Assignments are under the Student Tab, Advising Information on your portal.
    • For Academic Requirements, here is a list of General Education Courses and .
  3. Make your payment. Your payment must be current to register online. The total balance is due unless you enroll in a Payment Plan or secure financial aid. 
  4. Online Registration: log into your My Sussex portal. You can self-register online (watch the short video below for steps). You can also print these Online Registration Instructions.
  5. File your FAFSA: File your early. View the financial aid documents on your . Visit Financial Aid for more information.
