High-tech industries across the country are searching for qualified optics technicians, and employers need more skilled professionals than the current workforce can supply. Optics technicians build and test the precision components found in medical equipment, lasers, satellites, defense systems, sensors, cameras, and countless everyday technologies. Through 猫咪社区's hands-on Optics Manufacturing program, students gain the skills employers need, with many receiving job offers before graduation. SCCC is one of only a handful of colleges in the nation that offer this program.
Graduates of the Optics Technology program will find employment opportunities with major optics manufacturing companies. One such company, Thorlabs, is located locally in Newton, NJ, and is one of the world鈥檚 largest photonics and optics manufacturers.
