Transfer Student

Steps to get started at Sussex:

Step 1: Apply for 猫咪社区

On the Application under Admission Status, please choose Transfer Student. Once your application is processed, you will be issued a Student ID number.

Step 2: Register for Classes

Stop in the Student Success Center to review your previous institution's transcript and plan your academic goals. For the initial advising conversation, you can use an unofficial copy of your transcript. After you're admitted, meet with an academic advisor to register for classes that align with your goals and degree program.

Step 3: Apply for Financial Aid (optional)

Apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at . 猫咪社区 School Code: 025688

After submitting your FAFSA, contact the Financial Aid Office to review your eligibility and aid status. You can register for classes even if you did not file a FAFSA or if it is still being processed.

Step 4: Pay Your Tuition or Set Up a Payment Plan 

Once you've registered for classes, pay your tuition online or in person. SCCC also offers an interest-free Payment Plan that allows you to spread tuition payments over time.

Step 5: Prepare for Your First Semester

  1. Check your student email regularly. 
  2. Get your student ID card and Parking Sticker from the Security Office, Student Center Bldg. D116
  3. Purchase textbooks and supplies. 
  4. Attend New Student Orientation (if applicable).
  5. Review your class schedule on the Student Portal.
  6. Make sure you have all your immunizations.

Transfer Information & Resources

猫咪社区 will accept a maximum of 50% of the credits required for a degree (A.A., A.S. or A.F.A.) or certificate or up to 39 credits for an A.A.S. degree for credits earned at other institutions, by experiences and/or by examination (CLEP聽or Challenge) in order to complete requirements for a degree from Sussex. If science and computer courses were completed more than eight years ago, students will be required to repeat them (for the PCCC Nursing Program there is a five-year limit on sciences, from the date of the course completion).

These credits will be entered in the聽Credits Earned聽column of the transcript and will not affect a student鈥檚 quality point average.

Transfer credits

  • Transfer Credits earned at other institutions are entered on the transcripts only after a student has been accepted and matriculated in a curriculum.
  • Students transferring credits from another institution should arrange for official transcripts to be sent to the Registrar's Office for evaluation.
  • After the transcript evaluation is complete, students will be informed which courses have been accepted for transfer toward a Sussex degree.
  • Students who are registering before receiving their transcript evaluation should meet with the Transfer Counselor in the Advising and Counseling Center for an聽unofficial聽assessment of their transcript.

Minimum Grade for Transfer
A minimum grade of 鈥淐鈥� or its equivalent is required for transfer credit to be applicable to a student鈥檚 certificate or associate degree curriculum.
Special accredited courses and other training will be evaluated (i.e. Ponsi, banking, ACE, military) on an individual basis.

International students must have their foreign transcripts translated and evaluated into US equivalents by a National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) member.

Get Your Student Photo ID: Stop by the Security Office in the Student Center (D) Building during regular hours to have your photograph taken and get your Student ID. Bring a photo ID and proof of registration for verification.

Activate your Sussex Online Tools: Once you register, you will be issued a student email account and . Set up your student email immediately to receive important college-related information.
